Job Summary

This role involves taking significant responsibility for the core infrastructure services within a shared data center environment for the German Pension Insurance. Day-to-day, you will manage and optimize critical services including Active Directory, DNS, NTP, and monitoring systems. You will be instrumental in automating processes using modern DevOps tools like Ansible, Git, and Chocolatey, while also handling first and second-level support for complex incidents. Beyond operations, you will contribute to IT security measures, KRITIS audits, and disaster recovery planning. This position is unique as it offers a stable, permanent public service contract (TV EntgO-DRV) with a meaningful social impact, supporting the migration of applications into centralized data centers. You will work in a cross-location team between Berlin and Würzburg, requiring a blend of technical expertise in infrastructure and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to ensure high availability and security for essential public services.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in IT, completed vocational IT training, or equivalent multi-year practical IT experience.

Experience

  • Several years of current and in-depth professional experience in a relevant IT environment
  • Professional experience in at least two core infrastructure areas (e.g., Active Directory, Monitoring, Automation)
  • Practical experience in data center core infrastructure operations
  • Experience in planning, conceptualizing, and documenting IT operational processes
  • Experience in agile working methods and project collaboration is preferred
  • Experience with KRITIS audits and IT security risk assessment is beneficial

Additional

  • Must be willing to participate in on-call rotations and weekend shifts. Regular monthly business trips between Berlin and Würzburg are required. Candidates must pass a security clearance check according to the Security Check Act (§ 9 SÜG). High physical presence required during the initial onboarding phase.
