Job Summary

The Technical University of Braunschweig is seeking a distinguished academic for a Full Professorship (W3) in High-Performance Materials within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, starting October 2026. The successful candidate will lead research and teaching focused on metallic materials subjected to high thermal and mechanical stress, particularly for aerospace and mobility applications. Key areas include superalloys, lightweight materials, and metal-hybrid systems. You will be integrated into the Lower Saxony Research Center for Aeronautics (NFL) and the Open Hybrid Lab Factory (OHLF), contributing to the strategic development of the university in areas like digitalization and internationalization. This role is ideal for an established researcher capable of managing a research group, securing third-party funding, and delivering high-quality education. Required Skills

Completed university degree, a doctorate of above-average quality, and additional scientific achievements (typically demonstrated via Habilitation, Junior Professorship, or equivalent achievements).
