Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Researcher position at the INM - Leibniz Institute for New Materials focuses on the 'RevEl' project, which aims to revolutionize energy storage through circular economy principles. The successful candidate will lead the development of fluorine-free nanocomposite binders to replace PTFE in dry battery electrodes, specifically focusing on 'debonding-on-demand' capabilities for direct recycling. Day-to-day responsibilities include engineering fibrillar composite architectures, developing industrially scalable processing routes, and conducting advanced structural characterization using techniques like SEM, SAXS, and rheology. The role requires a strong background in polymer science or composite engineering and the ability to establish complex structure-property relationships. This position is particularly attractive as it offers a three-year contract within a prestigious Leibniz Association institute, providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and strong integration into a national battery consortium, making it an ideal platform for high-impact scientific output and industry-relevant technology transfer.
