Job Summary

This role involves taking strategic and operational responsibility for non-wired telecommunications technologies across the Elia Group's infrastructure in Germany and Belgium. As a Network Engineer, you will manage the entire lifecycle of high-availability systems, including microwave links, TETRA radio, and satellite communications. Your day-to-day tasks will range from planning and network integration to maintenance and documentation within data centers, high-voltage substations, and administrative sites. You will define monitoring standards, manage incident and change processes, and provide technical consultancy for architectural developments. This position is particularly attractive due to its impact on critical societal infrastructure and the high degree of professional freedom and responsibility offered within a diverse, expert team. You will play a key role in capacity management and technical acceptance for implementation projects, ensuring the security and reliability of vital communication networks.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree or vocational training in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in Enterprise environments, specifically within the Carrier or Service Provider sector.
  • Proven experience in the architecture, planning, configuration, and integration of microwave, TETRA, and satellite technologies.
  • Professional experience managing high-availability systems where security and attention to detail are paramount.
  • Experience in technical consulting and feasibility assessments for network architectures.
