Job Summary

As a Tooling Designer for Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of complex assembly tools and fixtures for helicopters and aircraft doors. Your daily activities include designing tooling concepts, creating technical specifications for external procurement, and managing the technical interface with suppliers. You will act as a Technical Project Lead, overseeing the entire lifecycle from market analysis and design validation to final acceptance and handover to operations. This role is unique for its high level of responsibility in steering external design service providers and ensuring that tooling standards meet rigorous aerospace certification requirements. You will work closely with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to validate datasets and implement the latest production processes, particularly for composite component manufacturing. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a completed vocational training with further qualification as a Technician or Master Craftsman.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in engineering, project management, manufacturing, or supply chain within the aerospace industry
  • Extensive long-term experience in the design of fixtures and tools specifically for composite manufacturing
  • Proven experience in the production processes of composite components
  • Demonstrated experience in steering external design service providers and managing technical supplier interfaces
