Job Summary

This high-level leadership role within the Ministry for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature (MEKUN) of Schleswig-Holstein focuses on the oversight of nuclear decommissioning and dismantling processes. As the Head of Department V 33, you will lead the nuclear law supervision procedures for the Brokdorf Nuclear Power Plant and the Geesthacht Research Reactor. Your daily responsibilities include the strategic adaptation of supervisory methods to match dismantling progress, coordinating decommissioning permits, and resolving fundamental safety issues. This position is unique as it offers a direct influence on Germany's nuclear phase-out strategy and the long-term environmental safety of the region. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's level) in a natural science or technical field, or qualification for the higher administrative service (Laufbahngruppe 2, 2. Einstiegsamt).

Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in the field of nuclear technology, preferably in waste management or disposal
  • 2+ years of experience in coordinating and managing nuclear-focused projects within a state authority
  • Extensive experience in process analysis and organizational change management
  • Proven track record in target-oriented communication and conflict resolution in complex environments
  • Desirable: Experience in committee work, specifically federal-state cooperation (Bund-Länder-Zusammenarbeit)
