Job Summary

The Waterways and Shipping Authority (WSA) Elbe is seeking an Electrical Engineer to oversee the construction, operation, and maintenance of electrotechnical systems across vital German waterways, including locks, weirs, canal bridges, and control centers. Based in Magdeburg, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing investment measures, developing hardware and software concepts, and managing user-specific visualization systems. A key component of the role involves the automation of lock systems and their integration into remote control centers. This position offers a high degree of independence within a modern public administration framework. It is particularly attractive due to its permanent contract status, flexible working models (including mobile work), and a comprehensive benefits package under the TVöD Bund collective agreement, including a 90% annual bonus and 30 days of vacation.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH-Diplom or Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in the maintenance of electrotechnical systems
  • Profound experience and knowledge in the field of electrical engineering
  • Practical experience in automation technology
  • Experience in public procurement and contract awarding
  • Experience in coordinating and supervising construction and repair measures
