Job Summary

As an Incident Management Specialist at Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the safety management system in accordance with the Major Accidents Ordinance (Störfall-Verordnung). Your day-to-day activities involve creating alarm and hazard prevention plans, conducting incident drills, and ensuring safety compliance in large-scale technical projects. You will act as a key liaison for regulatory authorities, manage safety reports for upper-tier establishments, and oversee technical safety assessments such as HAZOP and TRAS. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close coordination with the fire department, occupational safety teams, and the crisis management committee. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Environmental Engineering or Process Engineering. Must possess the 'Störfallbeauftragter' (Incident Management Officer) specialist certificate.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of operational experience in immission control matters
  • Proven professional experience in environmental law and immission control regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders
  • Experience in managing immission control permit procedures
  • Experience in conducting or supervising technical safety reports and assessments
