Job Summary

This role at the University Hospital Bonn (UKB) involves working within the Department of Nuclear Medicine, a leading facility in Germany. As a Medical Physicist, you will serve as both a Radiation Protection Officer (SSB) and a Medical Physics Expert (MPE). Your daily responsibilities include performing quality control on diagnostic and therapeutic equipment such as PET/CT and SPECT systems, assisting in patient dosimetry, and collaborating with medical staff on nuclear medicine therapies. You will also be responsible for managing radioactive waste and establishing new therapeutic procedures. This position is unique for its integration into a high-performance clinical and research environment, offering access to cutting-edge technology and radiopharmaceuticals. It is a full-time parental leave replacement position (38.5 hours/week) limited until March 31, 2028. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Medical Physics or a comparable scientific/technical degree from a university or university of applied sciences. Ideally holds the specialist qualification (Fachkunde) in Radiation Protection for Nuclear Medicine.

Experience

  • Professional experience in medical physics or a comparable scientific/technical field
  • Experience in radiation protection and acting as a Medical Physics Expert (MPE)
  • Experience in the quality control of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment
  • Experience in patient dosimetry for nuclear medicine therapies is preferred
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams (physicians, chemists, engineers)
