Job Summary

As the Head of Continuous Improvement for Grid Technologies Switchgears, you will lead the global application of Lean principles across manufacturing sites to drive operational excellence. Your day-to-day involves deploying standardized manufacturing systems, identifying performance gaps, and leading major Lean initiatives such as Kaizen events and value stream mapping. You will act as a high-level coach for Lean leaders worldwide, focusing on improving On-Time Delivery (OTD), Factory Availability, and First Pass Yield (FPY). By fostering a collaborative Lean community, you ensure that breakthroughs and best practices are shared across the global network. This role is highly impactful, offering the opportunity to stabilize global operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity within a leading energy technology company. It is an ideal position for a strategic leader who enjoys hands-on shop floor engagement (Gemba) and driving cultural transformation through structured problem-solving and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or operation-related field (e.g., Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Production Systems).

Experience

  • Several years of practical experience in Lean and Operational Excellence within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in driving continuous improvement and leading Lean transformations
  • Proven experience in improving key manufacturing KPIs such as OTD and FPY
  • Experience in leading workshops and coaching leaders and Lean practitioners
  • Experience operating within an international professional environment

Additional

  • Willingness for regular international travel is required. Experience within Siemens Energy or the Grid Technologies product business is preferred but not mandatory.
