Job Summary
This role is situated within the Digitalization and Systems department of the Weilheim-Schongau District Office, managing a modern IT landscape of over 1,000 workstations. As a License Manager, you will be the primary authority for the administration, optimization, and monitoring of software and hardware product licenses and contracts. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve negotiating license agreements with vendors, ensuring legal compliance, and conducting cost analyses to streamline the product portfolio. You will collaborate closely with internal departments and external licensors while supporting audits and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diploma, B.A., B.Sc.) in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, Law, or a related field; or qualification for the Third Qualification Level (QE III) / Civil Service Exam II; or a commercial vocational qualification with a focus on contract and license management.
Experience
- Professional experience in contract, license, or product portfolio management
- Practical knowledge of common licensing models such as volume, OEM, and cloud-based licenses
- Experience using License Management or Software Asset Management (SAM) tools
- Experience in the public administration sector or understanding of its digital framework is preferred
- Proven experience in negotiating with hardware and software providers
