Job Summary

This full-time research position at the Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) focuses on the DFG-funded project investigating how male-driven interpretation of host factors directs sexual maturation in female Schistosoma mansoni. As a Research Associate within the Institute of Parasitology, you will conduct high-level scientific research while contributing to laboratory organization and ensuring compliance with genetic engineering and animal welfare regulations. The role offers a unique opportunity for further scientific qualification (such as a Habilitation) within a stimulating, international team environment. Required Skills

Education

PhD in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biomedicine, or Veterinary Medicine.

Experience

  • Completed PhD in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biomedicine, or Veterinary Medicine
  • Practical experience with genome editing (CRISPR/Cas) is highly advantageous
  • Basic knowledge in the field of parasitology
  • Professional experience in bioinformatics
  • Experience or training in animal welfare and laboratory safety regulations is preferred
