Job Summary

This PhD position within the International PhD Programme (IPP) Mainz offers a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in Molecular Biomedicine & Ageing. Based in Natalia Soshnikova's research group, the successful candidate will investigate the role of specific epithelial cell lineages in chronic intestinal inflammation, specifically focusing on Crohn’s disease. Day-to-day activities include working with advanced mouse models, epithelial organoid systems, flow cytometry, and transcriptomic/proteomic profiling to understand how intestinal stem cell populations influence immune activation and tissue remodeling. The role is highly interdisciplinary, bridging epithelial biology, immunology, and systems-level data analysis. This position is attractive due to its fully funded status, access to state-of-the-art core facilities, and inclusion in a vibrant international community of over 200 PhD students. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Biology or a related Life Sciences field.
