Job Summary

As a Lead Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the Research & Development team by defining and driving integrated photonics architectures specifically for trapped ion quantum computing systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve designing photonic interfaces between room-temperature laser sources and cryogenic ion traps, as well as architecting on-chip components optimized for visible wavelengths. You will lead precision optical assembly for cryogenic modules and execute complex metrology under ultra-high vacuum conditions. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to mentor junior engineers and interface with cross-functional teams of physicists and fabrication partners. This position is uniquely attractive as it offers the chance to work at the absolute forefront of quantum technology within a global semiconductor leader, providing a stable, permanent contract and a competitive salary structure based on the electrical and electronics industry collective agreement.
