Job Summary
This role at the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) involves managing and advancing IT systems for CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) protection. You will act as a key interface between specialized departments and external software developers, evaluating the feasibility and economic efficiency of system adaptations. Your day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining the infrastructure for CBRN reconnaissance vehicles, managing VPN networks and servers, and conducting tests in on-site laboratories. Additionally, you will lead the practical introduction of new hardware and software, design training measures for emergency personnel, and ensure technical standards align with current scientific research. This position is particularly attractive for those seeking to contribute to national security, offering a permanent contract, flexible working models with up to 60% remote work, and the stability of the German public service (TVöD E 12).
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Computer Science or a comparable IT-technical field. Candidates with equivalent skills/experience may also be considered.
Experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience in an IT-technical field corresponding to university-level education
- Experience in independent conception, preparation, and implementation of project measures in interdisciplinary environments
- Professional or voluntary experience in civil protection or disaster relief (e.g., Fire Department, THW) is preferred
- Experience with client, server, and network technologies

Additional
- Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung) is mandatory. Must be willing to participate in the BBK crisis organization. Driver's license Class B required (Class C preferred). Location: Bonn, Germany.
