Job Summary

As the Technical Director, you will serve as the primary technical authority for company-wide grid, electrical, and system strategies, specifically focusing on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects ranging from medium to extra-high voltage. You will be responsible for defining and approving electrical system architectures, grid connection concepts, and technical standards across the entire project lifecycle. This leadership role involves managing a specialized team of grid and electrical engineers, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring the technical feasibility and permitability of infrastructure projects. You will act as a key representative in technical due diligence and financing discussions. This position is particularly attractive due to the company's strategic partnership involving a €500 million investment, offering significant creative freedom to shape the energy transition within a vertically integrated platform. You will work closely with executive management to establish decision-making structures and drive the expansion of large-scale energy storage solutions in Germany.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the planning and implementation of grid connections in medium, high, or extra-high voltage ranges
  • Proven track record in technical management and coordination of complex energy infrastructure projects
  • Extensive experience with electrical system architectures, ideally within the renewable energy or BESS sectors
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated high potential for a technical management function
  • Practical experience or qualification as a Responsible Qualified Electrician (VEFK) is highly desirable
