Job Summary
As a Senior Construction Manager, you will take full responsibility for the execution phase of large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) from the Final Investment Decision (FID) through to the Commercial Operation Date (COD). Your daily activities will involve steering external partners and service providers, monitoring construction progress, and ensuring that all projects meet strict budget, schedule, and quality targets. You will play a critical role in contract, supplement, and claim management while providing regular reporting on risks and milestones to the Director of Construction & Execution. This position is particularly attractive due to the company's significant financial backing and its mission to drive the German energy transition through a multi-gigawatt project pipeline. It offers a high degree of autonomy, a structured onboarding process, and the opportunity to shape the future of energy storage infrastructure in a vertically integrated platform.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a completed vocational training as an Electrician or Technician with equivalent qualification.
Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in EPC projects, construction, or infrastructure environments
- Professional experience in energy or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects preferred
- Proven track record in project controlling, scheduling, and contract management
- Experience in managing external service providers and partners during the construction phase
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to work within a vertically integrated platform across locations in Heidelberg, Frankfurt, or Munich. Requires the ability to oversee projects from the Ready-to-Build (RTB) phase through to final asset management handover.
