Job Summary

This role involves joining the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV to conduct advanced research within Area I, focusing on the role of solvents in charge and electron transfer processes. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will work on subprojects investigating electrified interfaces, molecular energy conversion, and quantum phenomena. Day-to-day activities include conducting novel experiments to image solvents at molecular resolution or developing machine learning potentials for quantum simulations of cryo-processes. The position is ideal for researchers with a background in Chemistry or Physics who are eager to utilize a structured training platform that offers career coaching for academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. This is a full-time, two-year temporary appointment offering a unique interdisciplinary environment at the forefront of Solvation Science, supported by the TV-L E13 public service wage agreement.

Required Skills

Education

Top-grade University Degree and a Doctorate (PhD) in Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemical research with an excellent track record
  • Experience in specialized disciplines such as theoretical chemistry, catalysis, synthesis, or spectroscopy
  • Experience in developing machine learning potentials or quantum simulations is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary scientific environments
