This part-time Research Associate position (65% FTE) at the Chair of Molecular Evolution of Plants offers a unique opportunity to pursue a PhD while investigating fundamental biological processes. The successful candidate will focus on membrane transport, specifically characterizing previously unknown transporters within the Golgi apparatus of the model organism Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Day-to-day responsibilities include the functional characterization of cell wall components, quantitative analysis of metabolites and proteins using mass spectrometry, and the generation of mutant lines. The role is based in an excellently equipped laboratory and involves working within a dynamic, cooperative team.
