Job Summary

This role at the Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology involves a dual focus on scientific research and project management within the Tipping Points Modelling Intercomparison Project (TIPMIP). Day-to-day, you will analyze data regarding Earth system tipping elements, quantify risks associated with greenhouse gas emissions, and integrate findings into international reports. On the coordination side, you will manage stakeholders, develop long-term funding strategies, and organize international workshops and conferences. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Physics, Earth System Science, Climate Science, Ecology, or a comparable natural science background. A PhD is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the coordination of scientific projects
  • Experience in scientific research and network building within an interdisciplinary context
  • Experience in Earth system modeling, climate sciences, or physics is highly desirable
  • Experience in analyzing tipping point dynamics and Earth system risks
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management and international collaboration
