Job Summary

As a Full-Stack AI Engineer at BARMER, you will play a pivotal role in transitioning machine learning and generative AI models into practical, high-impact applications for the healthcare sector. Your daily responsibilities will center on backend engineering, where you will design robust APIs and orchestrate complex systems within scalable cloud environments. You will implement performant backend services, develop connectors for internal and external tools, and utilize agentic frameworks for advanced reasoning and tool usage. While the focus is on the backend, you will also maintain the flexibility to develop or adapt intuitive frontends using modern frameworks. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close work with Cloud Engineering teams to ensure system stability, security, and scalability. Required Skills

Education

University degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Full-Stack or AI Engineering
  • Proven experience in backend development using Python and associated frameworks
  • Experience in API design and the integration of services
  • Practical experience with agentic AI frameworks and vector databases
  • Experience in frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks or Python-based UI tools
  • Experience with containerization and microservices is preferred
