Job Summary

The Waterways and Shipping Office Mittelland Canal / Elbe-Seitenkanal is seeking an IT Specialist/Administrator to join a project team focused on the new construction of the Minden Control, District, and Operations Center. In this role, you will be a key project contributor for the operational IT component, involved in automating and remotely controlling facilities. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and optimizing business processes for digitalization, planning the implementation of digital applications, and overseeing the procurement and deployment of hardware and software. You will also be crucial in ensuring the secure and efficient operation of existing IT infrastructure, providing 1st and 2nd level support, and configuring network components and servers. This is an exciting opportunity to actively shape the future of waterways management in Germany within a large federal organization.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH Diploma or Bachelor) in Computer Science

Experience

  • Professional experience as an IT specialist/computer scientist (desirable)
  • Experience in implementing IT projects (desirable)
  • Experience in operating office IT and operational IT (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in plant networking and IT security/BSI Basic Protection (desirable)
  • Knowledge of public procurement processes (desirable)
