Job Summary
Join the Institute for Technologies and Management of Digital Transformation (TMDT) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal as a Research Associate focusing on Deepfake Development. In this role, you will conduct scientific literature reviews, research, and develop methods for generating realistic deepfakes, primarily focusing on images and videos. You will also be responsible for developing methods to train, experimentally evaluate, and improve Deep Learning models. This position involves close collaboration with team members, research institutions, and international partners, culminating in the presentation of research findings at conferences and in publications. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to strengthening the security and integrity of digital media by improving deepfake detection and generation, while also advancing your scientific and professional qualifications.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Media Informatics, Mathematics, Engineering Sciences, or comparable fields.
Experience
- Motivation and commitment to scientific and independent work
- Autonomy, creativity, and enthusiasm for new technologies
- Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++)
- Knowledge in using machine learning and deep learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras)

- This is a qualification position under the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG), aimed at gaining professional experience in the "Deepfakes" project. The contract duration is up to March 31, 2027. Full-time position, part-time possible.
