Job Summary

As a Senior Electronic System Engineer at MT Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in the development of the European Ariane launcher and other international space programs. Your daily responsibilities include analyzing complex system requirements from global stakeholders and designing integrated solutions that combine electrical, electronic, software, and mechanical systems. You will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and cost identification (Design-to-Cost) to leading critical design reviews (CDR, TRR, IRR). This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to manage technical subcontractors and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across departments like manufacturing, quality, and procurement. What makes this position unique is the opportunity to work on high-performance cryogenic products and aerospace structures within the OHB technology group. The role offers a 35-hour work week under the IG-Metall collective agreement and the chance to work at the forefront of space exploration technology in Augsburg.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • At least 6 years of professional experience in the design of electronic/electrical systems for cryogenic products or the aerospace industry
  • Several years of experience in technical subcontractor management
  • Proven experience in leading interdisciplinary technical teams
  • Extensive experience with MBSE methods and international system engineering standards
  • Experience conducting formal design reviews such as CDR, TRR, and IRR

  • This position is a fixed-term contract for 18 months. Candidates must be able to work at the Augsburg location. Experience with IG-Metall tariff structures is relevant for compensation.
