Job Summary

The Flensburg University of Applied Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Engineer to manage and operate its modern food technology laboratory. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of laboratory exercises in food technology and chemical food analysis, guiding students through practical work on industrial processing equipment. Your daily activities will include performing instrumental analysis to determine quality parameters such as fat, protein, and sugar content, as well as maintaining and calibrating analytical devices. You will also support student projects and theses while ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental standards (HACCP). Required Skills

Education

University degree in Food Technology, Meat Technology, Food Chemistry, or a related field. Professional vocational training in the food processing sector is desirable.

Experience

  • Professional experience in industrial food processing and chemical analysis
  • Practical experience in handling food technology systems and analytical equipment
  • Experience in hygiene management and food law (LMIV, HACCP)
  • Desirable: Experience in the industrial processing of meat and meat products
  • Desirable: Experience in teaching, mentoring, or training students
