Job Summary
As a Software Engineer for the City of Stuttgart's Office for Digitalization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT), you will play a pivotal role in driving the city's digital transformation. Your daily responsibilities include the development, maintenance, and modernization of HCL Notes applications, managing the entire application lifecycle from initial concept through to operation. You will act as a key coordinator in software projects, balancing stakeholder interests and ensuring structured documentation of all processes. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Information Technology (IT) or equivalent; for foreign degrees, official German recognition or an equivalent qualification proof is required. Eligibility for the high-level civil service (gehobener Dienst) is also accepted.
Experience
- Professional experience in creating workflow-based applications and conducting requirement analyses
- Demonstrated understanding of complex, networked systems
- Experience in software development with HCL Domino and Java is highly preferred
- Experience working within complex municipal or public sector structures is an advantage
- Experience in managing the full application life cycle from conception to operation
Languages
Additional
- Requires business fluent German (minimum C1 level). Foreign educational certificates must be accompanied by a certified translation and official recognition (e.g., right to use the title 'Engineer' in Germany).
