Job Summary
As an R&D Engineer in the CustomBiotech division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of biotechnological solutions for global healthcare companies. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve planning and executing complex biochemical analyses using chemical, enzymatic, and immunological methods. You will focus on biopharmaceutical analytics, specifically working with automated detection systems for fermentation processes (Cedex instrumentation). Beyond laboratory work, you will manage feasibility studies, stability tests, and recipe optimizations while supporting product care activities and troubleshooting manufacturing issues alongside an international team. This position is unique because it offers a blend of hands-on laboratory expertise and professional growth in project management and organizational leadership within a world-leading diagnostics environment. You will be responsible for the entire data lifecycle, from experimental execution and critical evaluation to the graphic presentation of results for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Biochemistry, Bioanalytics, or Biotechnology; or advanced training as a Certified Technician with corresponding professional experience.
Experience
- Several years of intensive professional experience with analytical procedures such as enzyme activity, protein analytics, or antibody-based analytics
- Professional experience in planning and conducting feasibility studies and stability tests
- Experience in evaluating experimental data and technical reporting
- Experience in instrument configuration, software, and database management
Languages
Additional
- This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years. Candidates must be willing to perform hands-on laboratory work while also managing organizational tasks and project management duties.
