Job Summary

As a Software Developer or GIS Developer at the Bavarian State Office for the Environment, you will play a key role in the 'Digitalization of Legacy Data and Automation with AI' (DAKI) project. Your daily responsibilities include analyzing user requirements and translating them into data models, application logic, and input masks for the Soil Information System Bavaria (BIS). You will be responsible for software development focusing on 'specialist classes,' managing geodata, and developing ETL processes using FME to publish environmental data. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on vital environmental protection infrastructure within a collaborative team of IT specialists. The position is based in Hof and is fixed-term until December 31, 2030. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or Diploma) in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in software development and Java technologies
  • Experience in database management and SQL
  • Experience in requirements analysis and documentation
  • Practical experience in geoinformatics, specifically with ESRI products is preferred
  • Experience in developing ETL processes, ideally with FME, is preferred
  • Experience in software testing and system documentation is preferred
  • Basic experience in application operations and system installation on Windows and Linux servers
