Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Bavarian State Office for the Environment in monitoring groundwater and surface water across the region. As a Technician in the Quantitative Hydrology department, you will be responsible for the determination and quality assurance of hydrological measurement data, including water levels, discharge, and spring flow. Day-to-day tasks include managing monitoring station files, maintaining master data in specialized technical applications, and coordinating with water management offices to verify data accuracy. This position is ideal for someone with a background in geology or environmental technology who enjoys working with environmental data to address critical issues like climate change and nitrate levels. The role offers a collaborative working environment with flexible hours (6:00 AM to 8:00 PM), the possibility of up to 50% remote work after an initial onboarding period, and a modern workplace in Hof, Germany.

Required Skills

Education

Certified Technician (State-certified) in the field of Geology or Environmental Technology, or a comparable qualification in quantitative hydrology.

Experience

  • Professional experience in hydrology and water balance is desirable
  • Practical experience in water management is an advantage
  • Experience in managing technical documentation and master data
  • Experience in quality assurance of measurement data (e.g., water levels, discharge)
