Job Summary

This role involves the independent planning, execution, and documentation of sophisticated analytical procedures within the Research and Early Development (RED) department at Roche. You will be responsible for performing HPLC and ESI-Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS) analyses, including sample and reagent preparation. A significant portion of the role focuses on the optimization and development of new methods, as well as the validation and transfer of these methods to other departments. You will evaluate results using specialized software, create SOPs and reports, and present findings in professional meetings. Additionally, you will handle the commissioning, qualification, and maintenance of chromatography systems and mass spectrometers. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and is ready to take responsibility for complex analytical projects in a world-leading pharmaceutical environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a comparable scientific/engineering field (Master's or PhD is beneficial but not mandatory).

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in analytical procedures (can include experience gained during Master's or PhD research)
  • Professional experience in test development within biochemical, biological, or medical fields
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of analytical laboratory equipment
  • Experience in creating technical reports, plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
