Job Summary

As the Head of Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, and Green Spaces for the city of Freiberg am Neckar, you will lead a dedicated team of approximately eight employees in shaping the city's physical landscape. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the entire lifecycle of construction projects, from initial planning and public tendering to final acceptance. You will act as the primary representative for the city when dealing with external planning offices and construction firms, ensuring that projects in road construction, civil engineering, and urban greenery are executed efficiently. This role is highly visible and impactful, requiring you to present reports to the municipal council and manage the department's budget and financial planning. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Experience in personnel leadership and department organization is preferred
  • Experience in representing owners/clients (Bauherrenvertretung) against external contractors
  • Experience in budget planning and financial oversight within a professional or municipal context
