Job Summary

As a Functional Safety Systems Engineer at HENSOLDT in Ulm, you will play a critical role in developing premium sensor systems for security and surveillance missions. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve defining safety plans and performing rigorous safety assessments, including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). You will be responsible for defining safety requirements across various system levels, managing hazard tracking systems, and compiling comprehensive Safety Case Reports. The role requires a proactive approach to system architecture and design changes to ensure compliance with international safety standards. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in functional safety (FHA, SSA, SSPP, FMEA) within the aerospace, nuclear, rail, or automotive industries
  • Experience in defining safety requirements and verification methods across system levels
  • Experience in creating system architectures and implementing design changes
  • Desirable experience in radar system development and signal/data processing
  • Experience with Requirements Engineering tools such as DOORS
