Job Summary
As a Biological Laboratory Technician at the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Experimental Immunology (IMMEI), you will play a vital role in investigating chronic liver inflammation and immune responses. Working within the Abdullah lab, your day-to-day responsibilities involve a mix of in vivo and in vitro research, including the management of transgenic mouse colonies, organ processing, and performing injections. You will support scientists with complex experiments, assist in the technical training of PhD and Masters students, and maintain core laboratory resources through the establishment of SOPs. The role requires proficiency in flow cytometry and cell culture techniques. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Biological Laboratory Technician (BTA) or equivalent biological technical assistant qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience as a Biological Laboratory Technician (BTA) or equivalent
- Practical experience with in vivo techniques including intravenous and subcutaneous injections
- Experience in standard molecular biology and flow cytometric profiling
- Experience in the technical training and supervision of students
- Experience with mouse colony maintenance and handling human samples is preferred

- FELASA B certification (or equivalent) for animal work is mandatory. Position is initially limited to 2 years with an option for extension. Full-time commitment of 38.5 hours per week.
