Job Summary
This role involves working directly at customer sites in Holzwickede and the surrounding region to manage the lifecycle of modern IT and network solutions. As an IT Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the physical installation, commissioning, and configuration of hardware including SD-WAN systems, routers, switches, and access points. A significant portion of the day-to-day work involves troubleshooting network infrastructure and resolving line faults in collaboration with various carriers. You will also provide technical support for virtual telephone systems and ensure all work is documented accurately. This position is ideal for a service-oriented professional who enjoys hands-on technical work and interacting with clients. The role offers a stable work environment within an innovative tech group that focuses on Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) and Managed IT services, providing a great platform to work with high-end hardware from manufacturers like Fortinet and Lancom.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in IT (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT Field Service, technical field service, or network technology is preferred
- Basic knowledge of network and WAN technologies including Routing, Switching, and SD-WAN
- Experience with Fortinet and/or Lancom hardware solutions is highly desirable
- Experience in the field of IP telephony is considered an advantage
