Job Summary
As an IT Network Specialist for the City of Nuremberg's Office for Information Technology, you will play a pivotal role in the digital transformation of a major German city. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the conceptualization, planning, and administration of the municipal network infrastructure, including LAN and Backbone systems. You will ensure secure connectivity for all city departments, manage IP addresses, and oversee change and incident management. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's or Diploma (FH) in Computer Science or Communication Technology; or qualified IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker); or Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt) with relevant experience; or civil service qualification (3. QE).
Experience
- Professional experience in IT networking and network management tools
- Practical experience in the operation of switches and routers from leading manufacturers
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience for applicants with vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist)
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience for applicants with specific administrative or financial backgrounds
- Experience in creating technical specifications for tender documents

Additional
- Driving license class B required; physical fitness for lifting/carrying up to 20 kg; willingness to participate in on-call rotations outside regular hours; location-based in Nuremberg.
