Job Summary
As a Process Engineer in Salzburg, you will work on cutting-edge semiconductor technology, focusing on atomic precision, material science, and surface engineering. Your daily responsibilities include developing advanced process formulations, specifically for electrochemical metal deposition and post-plating processes like metal etching. You will define equipment hardware requirements, evaluate complex test data, and coordinate design requirements to ensure method compatibility. This role is central to driving semiconductor breakthroughs by developing processes for global customers at both small and panel level scales. You will collaborate with internal teams to plan and report on customer demonstrations while contributing to next-generation product releases. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-tech laboratory environment using advanced analytical techniques and scientific computing to solve complex manufacturing challenges in the semiconductor industry.
Required Skills
Education
PhD or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics
- Professional experience focused on electrochemical metal deposition
- Experience in advanced packaging technologies
- Experience operating semiconductor equipment and surface preparation techniques
- Experience working in collaborative, matrixed environments with diverse teams and customers
- Professional background in electrochemistry and safe chemical handling

- Location: Salzburg, Austria. Work model: On-site Flex. The role requires the ability to work safely with chemicals and involves 14 monthly salary payments per year under the Austrian collective agreement.
