As a Geoinformatics Specialist at the Thünen Institute's Center for Information Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the spatial data landscape for a federal research institute with over 1,200 employees. Your daily responsibilities include evaluating and implementing technical concepts for geodata issues, administering spatial data infrastructures, and leading the institute-wide 'Geoinformation' working group. You will also represent the institute in external committees and ensure compliance with official geodata standards. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or Diploma) in Geoinformatics, Environmental Informatics, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on geoinformatics.

Experience

  • Practical experience in the setup, administrative support, and development of geodata infrastructures
  • Professional experience in geodata management and research data management
  • Experience in implementing standards such as INSPIRE, GeoZG, and Open Data
  • Experience in leading working groups or representative committees
  • Professional background in environmental informatics or geography
