Job Summary
As a DWDM Service Technician, you will play a critical role in shaping Germany's fiber optic infrastructure by working on advanced Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems. Your daily responsibilities include the installation, commissioning, and integration of these systems at core network locations. You will perform high-level optical measurements using tools like Spectrum Analyzers and conduct 100G RFC 2544 testing to ensure network integrity. Beyond installation, you are responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and detailed documentation of active transmission technology during live operations. This role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy field work and traveling, as it involves nationwide deployment from Monday to Friday. The position offers a stable, permanent contract with a reputable service provider supporting major network operators and data centers, providing a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of telecommunications technology.
Required Skills
Education
Completed technical or electrical vocational training (e.g., IT Systems Electronician, Electronics Technician for Information and Telecommunications Technology, or Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology).
Experience
- Professional experience in telecommunications and network technology preferred
- Experience in performing optical measurements and network testing
- Practical experience in the maintenance and repair of active transmission systems
- Proven track record of working in field service or nationwide deployment environments
Languages
Additional
- Must have a primary residence in Germany. High willingness to travel nationwide (Monday to Friday). Valid Class B driver's license required.
