Job Summary

The GWDG is seeking an HPC Performance and Data Management Engineer to join the High-Performance Computing (HPC) team, focusing on supporting scientific research and software development within the National High-Performance Computing (NHR) framework. This role involves consulting scientists on developing HPC-enabled research software, optimizing software performance, and managing large datasets. Key responsibilities include providing and documenting performance analysis tools, conducting training, and developing data-centric workflows for HPC systems. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Computer Science or a related field, excellent programming skills in Python and a low-level language like C or Fortran, and deep knowledge of parallelization using MPI and OpenMP. This position offers a stimulating research environment at the intersection of applied computer science, AI, and machine learning, with flexible working hours and the potential for a long-term collaboration, including opportunities for doctoral studies.
