Job Summary
The District Government of Cologne is seeking an IT Manager for IT Service Management to join their Department 14. This role involves leading and coordinating an IT service team across two locations in Cologne, ensuring the operational functionality and continuous development of IT service management and infrastructure. The successful candidate will drive strategic technology initiatives, contribute to the expansion of digital e-government structures, and lead migration projects and system integrations. This position offers an opportunity to significantly impact the digital transformation of the North Rhine-Westphalia state administration, working with a team of over 2000 employees to provide meaningful services to 4.5 million citizens. It is a permanent position, offering a chance to shape the future of public administration IT.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Geoinformatics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Technology, or comparable fields with a proven focus on Information Technology. Alternatively, a university degree in comparable fields with the required professional experience as specified.
Experience
- Relevant leadership experience in managing and steering IT teams
- Professional experience in IT service management following ITIL principles
- Experience in conducting IT projects using established project management methods
- Experience in the conceptual development of IT architectures
- Experience working with complex IT systems and modern IT architectures/environments
- Professional experience in public administration (desirable)
Languages
Additional
- Certification as a Program or Service Manager (desirable).
