Job Summary

This role involves architecting and advancing the company's critical data center networks, covering LAN, WLAN, WAN, Internet, and VPN technologies within a major energy provider in Hamburg. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, setup, and operation of communication infrastructures for both data centers and client systems. A key aspect of the role is advising on IT and telecommunication paths and their integration into existing security concepts when new applications and services are developed. Day-to-day duties include providing technical 2nd and 3rd-level support, maintaining system and architecture documentation, and training IT colleagues. Furthermore, the engineer will lead infrastructure projects, leveraging their broad expertise in network and telecommunication infrastructures. This position requires a MINT degree or equivalent qualification and significant professional experience in network environments, especially with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and complex IKT infrastructures.
