Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to join the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. This permanent, full-time role involves providing crucial technical support for research and academic activities, focusing on mobile communications, measurement technology, medical technology, and acoustics. Key responsibilities include creating experimental setups and prototypes, monitoring and automating technical experiments, and ensuring quality management for reproducible results. The technician will also support university teaching by assisting with student laboratory practicals and guiding students in research experiments. A strong background in analog and digital electrical and information technology is required, along with organizational skills and a reliable work ethic. The position also involves procurement, maintenance, and repair of laboratory hardware and software, including IT workstations, ensuring a highly varied and essential role within a modern university setting.

Required Skills

Education

State-certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfte/r Techniker/in) or Master (Meister/in) in Electrical Engineering or Information Technology, or equivalent qualifications

Experience

  • Completed training as a state-certified Technician or Master in Electrical Engineering or Information Technology, or comparable qualifications
  • Professional experience demonstrating equivalent abilities through vocational experience or relevant advanced training
  • In-depth and practical knowledge of analog and digital electrical and information technology
  • Knowledge of construction technology (desirable)
