Job Summary
This senior role at the Technical University of Darmstadt's IT Center involves strategically building, procuring, and managing 'Anything as a Service' (XaaS) models across the university, with a strong focus on compliance, data protection, and contractual integration. The manager will provide strategic consultation to the IT Center and departmental IT representatives regarding the selection, implementation, and management of Cloud services (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS). Key responsibilities include complex contract negotiation, licensing management, ensuring adherence to public procurement laws, and addressing legal and technical frameworks specific to the public higher education sector. This position requires deep expertise in Cloud Computing, IT Service Management, and legal compliance, offering a crucial opportunity to shape the university's digital transformation and Cloud strategy.
Required Skills
Education
Relevant University Degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) or equivalent qualification, Certified License Manager (or willingness to obtain certification quickly)
Experience
- At least 6 years of relevant professional experience combined with a relevant university degree, OR at least 4 years of relevant professional experience combined with a relevant scientific university degree
- Professional experience in Cloud/IT Service Management
- Experience in public procurement and contract procedures (especially for IT services)
- Experience with databases or license management tools (advantageous)
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Zoom, or other Cloud suites in a university environment (advantageous)
- Experience in Service Management or Project Management methods (advantageous)
