This role involves the planning, maintenance, and operation of medium-voltage (6 kV, 20 kV) and low-voltage (400 V) electrical systems at the TU Darmstadt. As a key technical expert, you will hold switching authorization and assume responsibility for electrical installations in accordance with VDE 0105-100 and safety regulations. Day-to-day tasks include performing switching operations during faults or construction, inspecting network protection devices, overseeing external contractors, and maintaining emergency power generators and PV systems. You will also provide technical consultancy to project management teams regarding the design and tendering of electrical infrastructure. Required Skills

Education

Vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology or Industrial Engineering, plus further qualification as a State-Certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the planning, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems (Medium and Low Voltage) in buildings and outdoor facilities
  • Proven experience with switching operations and plant responsibility for electrical switchgear
  • Experience in supervising external service providers and contractors
  • Experience with network protection and safety equipment functional testing

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to participate in on-call standby duty outside of regular working hours. Must be able to hold switching authorization for MV/LV systems.
