Job Summary

This PhD position, associated with the DFG-funded Research Training Group 2989 at the University Hospital Essen, focuses on the critical link between the intestinal microbiome and acute myocardial infarction outcomes. The successful candidate will join Project 4, "Targeting the Microbiome," to investigate how reperfused acute myocardial infarction affects gut microbiota and how these microbial mediators subsequently impact the heart via the gut-heart axis. This role requires a strong background in Biology, Immunology, or Microbiology, and exceptional motivation for cross-disciplinary, translational research.
