Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position as a Technical Assistant (MTA/BTA) is based in the Institute of Pathology, specifically within the Molecular Pathology and Research Laboratory. The role involves critical laboratory tasks supporting both clinical diagnostics and scientific research. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing histological thin sections from FFPE and cryo-material, performing various staining methods (histochemical and immunohistochemical), and executing in-situ technologies like FISH. A core part of the job is advanced molecular work, including DNA/RNA preparation from diverse samples (FFPE, fresh tissue, blood), concentration determination, and conducting various PCR-based methods, including high-throughput sequencing. The ideal candidate will manage consumables, organize projects independently in consultation with scientific leadership, and contribute to quality assurance and the establishment of new procedures, making this a diverse and high-impact role in a modern university hospital setting.
