Job Summary
This role involves actively shaping the digital transformation of the City of Emsdetten, focusing on innovative technologies like Geodata Infrastructure, urban data platforms, and the Digital Twin concept. The specialist will be central to the administration, development, and implementation of IT procedures for technical services, particularly managing and advancing the city's Geoinformation Systems (GIS). Key responsibilities include administering technical software applications, ensuring timely updates, coordinating with software vendors, and integrating geodata into existing IT infrastructures via interface development. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Business Informatics, Informatics, or Geoinformatics, possesses experience in database and application administration, and is eager to lead or participate in digitization projects, especially those involving spatial data and Smart City initiatives. This position offers a stable, full-time (or part-time) role in the public sector with flexible working hours and opportunities for professional development.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Business Informatics, Informatics, Geoinformatics, or comparable field (Bachelor graduates currently in the second half of their Master's program are also considered)
Experience
- Professional experience in the administration of technical applications and databases
- Basic knowledge of web technologies and interfaces
- Experience in interdisciplinary project work (especially SmartCity and urban planning)
- Experience or willingness to acquire knowledge in GIS technologies
