Job Summary
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is seeking a Web Developer to join their IT.SERVICES department, focusing on research data management. In this role, you will be instrumental in the further development and adaptation of ReSeeD, an open-source web application built on Ruby on Rails for storing and managing research data. Your daily tasks will involve capturing and implementing technical requirements, working on both the front-end and back-end of the application, and supporting pilot operations and testing of developed components. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of research, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, and lay the groundwork for future data analysis using Machine Learning and AI within a leading German research university. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT, experience with web frameworks, and strong communication skills.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., IT specialist) or a completed degree with an IT focus, or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT or web development
- Experience with programming a web framework
- Experience with project management and versioning tools

- This is a fixed-term contract for 3 years. The position is available for part-time or full-time (50%, 75%, or 100% of 39.83 hours/week).
