Job Summary

This full-time Academic Research Associate position at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, within the Institute for Sustainable Energy Systems (INES), focuses on the "PyCCS-2050" project, investigating pyrolysis technologies and carbon capture and storage (CCS) scenarios. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing complex pyrolysis experiments using the institute's dedicated plant and various biomass feedstocks. Key tasks include measuring pyrolysis gas composition, sampling bio-oils, conducting calorific value measurements, and performing elemental analyses of biomass and biochar. Furthermore, the role involves simulating pyrolysis-supported Haber-Bosch scenarios, developing biochar-based fertilizers through pelleting and granulation, and meticulous data management, documentation, and the creation of scientific publications. This is a unique opportunity for a professional with a scientific background to contribute directly to sustainable energy research and development, offering a fixed-term contract until March 2029.
