Job Summary

This critical role focuses on the development and industrial implementation of advanced optical assembly and joining technologies for a leading manufacturer of high-precision optics. Day-to-day responsibilities include testing and evaluating new mounting technologies in a laboratory setting, designing robust joining processes to meet stringent product requirements, and conceptualizing active and passive alignment procedures. A key function is the specification and implementation of cleanliness standards and subsequent transfer of proven technologies into high-volume industrial production, requiring strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA). The ideal candidate must possess a university degree in Optics, Physics, or a related engineering discipline, coupled with at least five years of relevant professional experience and strong organizational skills to coordinate various internal and external interfaces.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Optics, Physics, Process Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Science, or similar) or equivalent qualification through professional experience.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a relevant position
  • In-depth knowledge of optical alignment principles (centering and tilting)
  • Experience with modern joining processes and fixture/tool development
  • Process expertise in transferring technologies to series production (DFM/DFA)
  • Experience with fundamental metrology, focusing on inline measurement technology
